BHW Named One of the 50 Best Workplaces by The Silicon Review.
The Silicon Review has been accredited with being one of the world’s most trustworthy online and printed community for business & technology professionals. We are extremely honored to be recognized by such a company. Here at BHW, we are always striving to provide not only our families with the best care possible but also to our staff. We believe in providing BHW employees with growth opportunities, career development resources along with a comprehensive support system that’s integrated throughout all phases of our HR lifecycle. Because of this, we interviewed our Founder and CEO, Dr. Douk, to learn more about What makes BHW one of the best places to work?
Question: How does it feel to be named one of the 50 Best Workplaces?
Dr. Douk: I don’t think anyone ever starts a company to try and become the best work place but when you are awarded with this opportunity, it is a great reminder to all the employees that make up the BHW culture to realize how much each and every one of them have invested into our families and how much they have helped create this organization over the years. I think I speak for the entire group when I say that we still have a long way to go and that we will continue to have a lot of areas to improve on as a company but what I can say is that we have the right intentions. Because of it, I am certain that we will one day get to where we need to be. This recognition comes at a perfect time and is especially sweet because we’ve recently gone through a lot of enhancements and upgrades to meet the growing demands of our clients and through it all, we’ve been able to preserve our culture. It’s in BHW’s DNA to work hard, to constantly evolve for the better, and to celebrate our accomplishments as a team that makes this place the spot that people love to keep showing up to everyday.
Question: What do you think leads to this success?
Dr. Douk: I’m blessed with an amazing clinical and administrative staff who are not only talented but diligently transforming the lives of the families they serve, day in and day out. And if you’ve ever visited a BHW location, you would know that from our hospitality concierge who greets every person that walks through their doors each morning (who by the way should win “most friendly” of the year). And to all of our behind the scenes folks in Operations, Service, Compliance, Finance, Partnership, and HR, that they are the people that make this environment what it is today. From the lip sync battles to the ping-pong matches, these people know how to celebrate just as hard as they work. And that’s important to not forget to take a moment and celebrate with each other.
Question: Do you believe that BHW’s growth has contributed to this amazing recognition?
Dr. Douk: Yes, I think the growth has a lot to do with it. BHW is a different company each year because of the growth. Our growth, although at times is painful and difficult, is the driving force behind challenging each one of us here to grow professionally each day. And because of it, it has allowed many entry-level staff to now positively progress into management and directorship roles.
Question: If you could describe BHW in one word, what would it be?
Dr. Douk: CARING. Our staff really does care about each other and that trickles down to our clients. It’s like the “Paying It Forward” effect where once you feel cared for, you can’t help but want to extend that care to make somebody else’s day.
