Give Your Child the Opportunity to Make New Friends and Build Social Skills
We are excited to have launched a new Social Skills Groups program aimed at guiding children with Autism ages 5+ through the journey of making new friends and developing social skills. We understand that finding opportunities for kids to make new friends can be a challenge, specifically during the COVID-19 crisis. Our virtual program provides a safe and supportive environment where your child will finally have the opportunity to reconnect with peers.
Participation is easy: Join a group via electronic device from the comfort and safety of your home. Our skilled team will support your child as they engage in turn-taking games, conversation, sharing and other activities that help them learn and build friendships through a virtual platform.
Locations where the program is being offered in California:
- Bay Area
- Orange County
- Inland Empire
Help Your Child Build Friendships
Our ultimate goal is to help your child build meaningful relationships. Our Social Skills Groups program will introduce your child to new friends, and support interactions in a fun and motivating way.
The program offers an engaging, yet controlled group setting, allowing participants to become familiar and comfortable with their peers and environment.
Give Your Child the Opportunity to Develop Social Skills
In this program, children will have the opportunity to develop social skills featuring the below and more:
- Making friends
- Conversational skills
- Conflict resolution
- Interpreting and responding to others emotions / body language
- Joining in play
- Self-regulation
Each Social Skills Groups session breaks skills down into simple and easy-to-learn steps. Our goal is to help each child master one phase at time, keeping them engaged, and maximizing success.
Benefit from Small Staff-to-Client Ratio
Learning social skills and building relationships is a big step in a child’s life. Our Social Skills Groups program has a small staff-to-child ratio, to eliminate distractions and provide optimal support. Our staff’s role is to encourage independence while providing a safe and therapeutic environment – to allow your child to generalize skills in a successful and meaningful way.
We are excited to begin offering this program to families across California. Contact your Clinical Director at 800-249-1266 to learn more and sign up.
