New Year’s Resolutions for Parents with Children on the Autism Spectrum
2017 is quickly coming to an end and BHW has been honored to have spent this year with you. With the new year’s celebrations in a few days, many of us start thinking of our 2018 resolutions. When having a loved one on the Autism spectrum, some resolutions could be:
- I will have more good days to learn a new skill
- I will develop my child’s areas of strength
- I will take things one day at a time
- I will be a stronger advocate for my child
- I will continue/start to look at things from my child’s perspective
- I will be vigilant in monitoring and managing my child’s progress
As you start compiling next year’s resolutions, please don’t forget to take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments from this year. Since 2009, for us at BHW, our main focus has been on providing families with hope and letting them know that they’re not alone on this journey. We’ve also instilled this mission through our efforts abroad with our sister organization, Hope Out Loud. In this new year, our resolution is to continue growing responsibly and providing premium service delivery for more families seeking assistance around the nation and the world. We are better together. Because when we are, the impossible becomes possible. Happy New Year!
